Amavata : an Ayurvedic Approach to Autoimmune Diseases = 6h44
Amavata: a disease entity described in Ayurveda that bears a great deal of similarity to autimmune diseases in Western medicine. This lecture will review and compare Amavata and autoimmune diseases, and provide practical holistic strategies used in both prevention and treatment, using traditional herbs and formulas, as well as Western herbs, local herbs, and herbs from other traditions including Chinese medicine.
 
Ayurveda - Core Principles, Lifestyle and Medicinal Plants = 4h19
An introduction to the basic concepts and practices of Ayurveda, translated and contextualized for a Western audience. Particular emphasis will be placed on the core principles of Ayurvedic medicine that inform effective dietary and lifestyle practices. You'll also learn more about important medicinal plants of that tradition.

Todd Caldecott
Todd Caldecott is a medical herbalist and Ayurvedic practitioner, author of the book Food as Medicine, co-editor of Ayurveda in Nepal, and a 20-year member of the American Herbalists Guild. He maintains a clinical practice in Vancouver, and is director of the Dogwood School of Botanical Medicine.
